2013 Audi S6, S7, S8

On the show floor, the brand staged all three cars alongside their mainstream versions and their respective A monikers.

2013 Audi S6The differences are curious: There's more brightwork on the S6, S7 and S8 than the A cars — something that's often the opposite on performance trims, which often go the darkened route. The S6 added dedicated fog lights missing on the A6 show car; the A7 and A8 also had the extra lights, rendering harder differentiation for the S cars.

2013 Audi S7
Fire up the engines, and the difference should be clear. In a direction a lot of luxury brands are taking, Audi's S cars eschew last year's V-10s for smaller-displacement, twin-turbo V-8s, much like how the S4 and S5 have a forced-induction six instead of the earlier V-8. But Audi still claims stout acceleration, with all three cars hitting 60 mph in well under 5 seconds. I obviously couldn't test that on the show floor.

2013 Audi S7
I hit the Audi stand late on the second day — as the show was closing — and the S8 was locked, but I sampled the seats in the S6 and S7. Both cars have bolstered sport seats, but the S7's get my vote: one-piece sport seats with bolsters that hug but don't pinch, with quilted center inserts. Comfy things, those chairs. Managing Editor David Thomas did get seat time in the S8, and it, too, had the quilted leather seats like the S7. He felt those two were going for a Bentley look while the S6 was dressed up more in the tradition of other past S models with simple, sports car-like patterns and feel.2013 Audi S8

New Audi TT sketch

A concept of the next-generation Audi TT could be headed for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show later this month, according to international reports and rumours.

A sketch (above) has appeared on Dutch website AudiBlog, blending design elements from the last year’s Audi quattro concept, Audi’s various e-tron electric concepts and the production Audi R8.

Audi A1 Sportback revealed

Audi A1 Sportback revealed At launch, there will be four turbocharged engines to choose from, all carried over from the three-door, including the efficient 1.6-litre TDI unit that emits just 99g/km, while returning a claimed 74.3mpg.
Audi A1 Sportback revealed
A performance 2.0-litre diesel option will join the top of the range later in the year, boasting 141bhp and a 0-62mph sprint time of just 8.5 seconds - giving Audi a direct rival to MINI’s Cooper SD hatch. Three trims are available, but all come well equipped, with every Sportback getting alloy wheels and a 6.5-inch colour display as standard.
Audi A1 Sportback revealed

The Sportback is due to hit showrooms in February, and will command a £560 premium over the equivalent three door. That means prices will start at £13,980 for the 1.2 TFSI SE, rising to a hefty £21,270 for the hottest 182bhp 1.4 TFSI in sporty S line trim.
Audi A1 Sportback revealed
The A1 range won’t stop growing there though, and Auto Express has learned that Audi is also planning to launch hot S1 version of the three-door in 2013, a cabriolet, and an extreme RS1 too.

2012 Audi TT RS Quattro

2012 Audi TT RS Quattro
It is no different with people who produce automobiles, especially those in which performance trumps price. Thus we have cars like the 2012 Audi TT RS, an all-out driving machine that is as comfortable on a race track as it is on suburban streets and rural freeways.
2012 Audi TT RS Quattro
It's not as if the German manufacturer did not already have high-performance coupes. There's the TT with a 211-horsepower four-cylinder engine and a dual-clutch automated manual gearbox that can hit 60 miles an hour in 5.3 seconds, according to Audi's specifications.
2012 Audi TT RS Quattro
And there's the TTS with its 265-horsepower four-banger and automated gearbox that can get there in 4.9 seconds. Like the TT, it comes standard with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive.

So what's not to like? Nothing, except there's that old imperative making its persuasive powers felt in the new TT RS. This one can do the zero-to-60 romp, according to Audi, in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 174 miles an hour while also delivering EPA city/highway fuel economy numbers of 18/25 miles to the gallon.

2012 Audi A1 Sportback
The minicar segment is about to explode, with new models planned from most of the major automakers including, for the first time, premium labels such as Audi. While most are heading down the budget road Audi will be launching an upmarket model to tackle the likes of the MINI, Fiat 500, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and even BMW's 1-Series. The new model is the 2011 Audi A1, which thus far has only been revealed as a three-door hatch but there are more variants in the works, three more that we know of.
2012 Audi A1 Sportback

The full A1 family will grow to include a five-door hatch, as previewed by 2008's A1 Sportback Hybrid Concept, a stylish A1 Cabriolet and eventually a sporty S1 model with quattro all-wheel drive. While not confirmed, there's also a chance that a gasoline-electric hybrid version may be launched and further down the track we might eventually see an-electric A1--but these greener models are still several years away at the earliest.

Audi shows outstanding recordings of Olttimern

"Discover worlds with Audi Tradition" under the heading of the calendar itself presents the historical department of Audi for the year 2012. 13 different historic cars from more than one hundred years of history were depicted in 13 different countries - from Eastern Europe to America.
2012 Audi

Special offer insights from the motives of the U.S., Brazil and Peru. 2008 Audi discover as the lost "last Horch" again and brought him into the company museum. The Horch 830 from 1953 found himself in a junkyard in San Angelo in South Texas. It was the only one ever built in Ingolstadt. More than 40 years, the car in the Texas prairie was exposed to the scorching sun: This image is recorded in the calendar.

2010 Audi historian sighted a wanderer in Lima in 1915: a "little doll" body with a boat, the last survivor of the calendar shows the rarity of this kind in one of the less pleasant district of the Peruvian capital.

One of the most spectacular shots undoubtedly succeeded in Rio de Janeiro. In Brazil, were built under license by Auto Union in the 50s and 60s DKW. They included models that were never off the assembly line in Ingolstadt, as Fissore and Belcar. Combines these two find themselves on the April DKW image below the world-famous statue of Christ, together with a view of "Cidade maravilhosa".

Also this year Stefan Warter is responsible for the photography of the calendar. The Berlin-based photographer photographed the current calendar already Audi's tradition of "Time Warp - The Auto Union Silver Arrows on the original tracks" from. A native of Franke has long devoted time and reportage photography for magazines including "Geo" and "star" worked.

Audi Q7 Pickup Truck Photo

A picture on the internet showing an Audi Q7 turned into a pick-up by a redneck made the auto media crazy.

Is it a car, is it a plane? That’s the main question, and, of course, we shouldn’t forget a similar design from BMW which kept the front of the newspapers, and not only, for quite some time.

A two seater pick-up made from one of the ugliest SUVs ever will surely keep, once again, the main headlines in the automotive media.

If this picture is for real and someone wanted to be “unique”, tell him what you think of his “master piece”. And if it is only a bad joke from the Audi Group than most likely will remain in the car manufacturer’s “museum”.

2012 Audi A7

2012 Audi A7 sedan

Talk about being "linked in." While I'm finding my way with the Audi A7's intuitive Google Earth navigation and Google Local search (who asks for directions anymore?), the guys in the back seat are surfing the Internet and checking their email.

It's called Audi Connect, and Audi says much of it marks an industry first. Truth is, Audi is breaking new ground with a number of innovative features these days; they're first to market with standard Wi-Fi connectivity, too.

But forgive me, I've buried the lead: The 2012 Audi A7 has exceptional looks, sporty lines and it's a heckuva fun ride, too. A supercharged ride. One that will spring from 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds and up to 100 mph in just over 13 seconds.

The A7 is a different sort of animal. With its sloping roofline, it could fool you into thinking it's a sport coupe. But it is a four-door luxury sedan with the practicality of a large, rear hatchback for easy access to the golf clubs.

The next-generation A6 shares much of the underpinnings here, but the A7 is longer and wider.

Flying up the ramp and onto the interstate is a brisk run with its 3.0-liter V-6 fitted with a belt-driven supercharger and direct fuel injection. It's the same engine as the current A6 and it's good for 295 horses and 325 pound-feet of torque. Top speed is factory-limited at 130 mph.

Regulating the speed is a smooth-shifting eight-speed transmission that gets some credit for the estimated 28 mpg on the highway - if you behave. The Tiptronic tranny also lets you select any of those eight gears manually.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of its acceleration is in the midrange torque. Fifty-to-70 mph can be had in 3.4 seconds.

Riding the uneven roads is better than in most Audi models, in spite of its rather stiff suspension. Handling is clean and predictable, and it can be pushed on the corners in spite of its size.

Audi A6 Review

The all-new Audi A6 is a huge step forward in the luxury executive class. With a lighter chassis, a range of technological updates and a much sportier driving feel, Audi is expecting big things from its new A6.

Although Audi A6 sales in Australia have historically not matched its German rivals, globally more than seven million A6s have been sold since the model was introduced in 1968.

The seventh generation Audi A6 comes at a time when Audi is reinventing itself to be the ultimate in German luxury motoring. From the recently launched Audi A1, A7 and A8 to the revitalised model line-up, the German company is determined to topple BMW and Mercedes-Benz’s local market position.

2011 Nothelle Audi Q5 3.0 TDI Engine= Rear apron

2011 Nothelle Audi Q5 3.0 TDI Engine= Turbo diesel V6 with 290 hp

The Q5 sits on the latest A4 sedan chassis, and inherits its stiffness and adept handling.

It also inherits the overly firm ride, though it’s cushioned a little by the SUV suspension.

It houses a choice of typically stunning drivetrains, but the weight of the luxury fit-out (maxing-out at 1865kg) makes the six-cylinder 3.0-litre diesel the pick.

If your budget can handle it, take this one over the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel (even if its nose is a touch harder to turn in, thanks to the bigger diesel’s weight penalty).

Its figures are as good as its figure, with 176kW and a glorious 500Nm of torque clocking 0-100km/h in just 6.5secs.

The Q5 is actually quite capable off-road and well-up to the family excursion some way off the beaten track, provided you don’t go too far.

2012 Audi S6 Spied

With the new A6 already out the German carmaker thought it could escape but it didn’t because the Motorauthority spies captured the car in testing, including shots of the carbon fiber-clad interior.
2012 Audi S6
The new model is expected to get a punchier version of Audi’s upcoming 4.0-liter V-8 engine, taking the place of the 435-horsepower V-10 engine in the current 2011 S6. Leaked specs for the car peg the new V-8′s output at 434 horsepower, so it won’t be giving up any performance despite lopping off two cylinders.

Probably the S6 will make its debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, this year, but it’s possible it may wait longer.

First Drive: 2012 Audi Q3

The Q3's chiseled, loudmouth front grille is flanked by a pair of eyes with the brand's trademark LED light pipes as mascara. Out back the theme continues with red taillamps, a wraparound tailgate, and a strongly sloped rear windshield.
2012 Audi Q3

Inside, Audi's cabin materials show no signs of cheapening. The real aluminum knurled knobs for the A/C temperature feel more finely engineered than those in a Rolls-Royce. The seats are solid (in a good way), and the instruments and ergonomics are as near faultlessly clear as you can find. An optional interior light package adds more LED flavor to the borders of the speaker grilles and cupholders.
2012 Audi Q3

Once it's underway, there are no arguments with the Q3's heart-of-market 211-hp turbo four. All the Q3's engines are quieter and smoother than they are in other transverse Audis. The turbocharger puts its shoulder to the wheel right through the working rev range, and the twin-clutch unit backs it up with prompt shifts, either in the auto range or when you call for them on the little paddles.

A small premium crossover like the new Audi Q3, while certainly not lost on North Americans, does seem to face both corporate and public resistance Stateside. The frequent customer logic goes something like, "It's small and expensive, so why wouldn't I just buy the bigger Q5 or maybe an A4?" Hence most of the reason why Audi North America hesitates on bringing the Q3 over to us.

2011 Audi A4 is a smooth driving and slick looking sport sedan, which has been redesigned with 19 inch wheels and black trim. It also features an eight-speed automatic transmission and improved fuel economy. The Audi A4 has fundamentally declared itself neutral, the automotive equivalent of Switzerland. It manages to practically match the quickening of its rivals while concurrently providing reassurance of four-wheel drive system and impressive fuel economy. The A4 is known for its performance, and the vehicle is equipped with a top notch cabin with decent sized trunk and rear seat. However, the cabin inside wagon doesn’t offer much cargo capacity, but it does provide you with more adaptability as compared to sedan.

The 2011 Audi A4 does a laudable job of balancing both handling and ride, making it one of the refined and uncompromisingly tuned vehicles in the market. There are plenty of rivals in the market offering superior performance and are compelling to drive – Audi S4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz C Class, Volkswagen CC and Infiniti G37. But, those who are looking for a vehicle that provides more power, A4 is the best choice.
