Apparently, Audi is mulling a high performance RS version of the Q3 that will be equipped with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine currently found in the Audi TT RS and the Audi RS3. The forthcoming Audi Q3 RS is expected to be capable of churning out power of 300 hp.
According to Auto Motor und Sport, inside sources have revealed that the Q3 RS is coming, at least in Europe. One can expect the Audi Q3 RS to feature a number of suspension upgrades, a sporty body kit as well as custom interior pieces. The Q3 RS will likely be available for sale by the fall of 2012.
Incidentally the 2012 Audi Q3 is available with three different four-cylinder engines namely a TDI and two TFSI units. All three combines direct injection with turbocharging and features an energy recovery system as well as a start-stop system. Meanwhile, the gasoline engine and diesel engine are mated to a quattro permanent all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic transmission respectively.
